Ben is an experienced Chief Marketing Officer and business advisor, with an enviable track record in delivering growth and turning ventures around. Cutting his teeth in advertising back in the 90s, Ben worked on a number of high-profile brands and campaigns including Microsoft, JP Morgan and the launch of MORE TH>N.
Ben moved to MasterCard in 2005 where he led the award-winning Priceless advertising campaign for several years and launched contactless payments into the UK.
In 2010, Ben joined Royal Mail where he was responsible for marketing including insight, digital, content, social, CRM, performance and brand marketing communications. Ben was Group Marketing Director for the £7bn turnover UK business for three years.
At Royal Mail, Ben’s mission was to win, keep and grow customers through integrated marketing across consumer and business markets in the UK.
Highlights have included launching a £1bn media channel for advertisers, a customer value segmentation unlocking £30m revenue, digitising marketing and improving performance 4-fold, and more recently transforming the digital estate and establishing a category leading social media presence.
Since leaving Royal Mail, Ben has been advising several technology ventures in the Oxford Foundry and leAD accelerators, as well as scale up and more established SMEs with guidance on strategic positioning, brand definition and go to market planning.
Ben is also a regular contributor and columnist with Marketing Week and eConsultancy.
