Prior to being Chief Customer Officer at Engine he was CSO at Rapp and Proximity, led the creative team at Mindshare, and strategy teams at Rufus Leonard, Grand Union, iLevel and TMW. Over this time, Adam has worked on several Financial Services clients including Lloyds Bank, HSBC, and PayPal creating relevant, responsive customer experiences that transcend media.
Ben is an experienced brand marketer and Chief Marketing Officer, with an exceptional track record in delivering growth across a broad range of sectors. Cutting his teeth in advertising back in the 90s, Ben worked with a number of high-profile brands on their advertising and marketing activities, including Microsoft, JP Morgan, Johnson & Johnson and AMD, in the UK and across Europe.
Since moving in-house in 2005, Ben has done significant stints at Mastercard, Royal Mail, and more recently GSK, where he has led significant brand, digital and marketing transformation programmes. In 2021 Ben joined FTSE 100 financial services giant Phoenix Group, as their first ever Brand Director.
Alongside his corporate knowledge, Ben has experience mentoring several pre-seed start-up ventures at the Oxford Foundry and leAD, as well as consulting for several established owner-led businesses.

Brian is an Insight leader with over 25 years experience across multiple sectors including legal service, technology, utilities and public service. In his current role, Brian leads the insight function focusing on how best to leverage AXA IM’s customer behavioural data asset to drive better engagement with the AXA IM brand.
A researcher by trade, Brian’s skills have evolved to include driving growth through data and works closely with technology departments to deliver transformation and change. Since his arrival at AXA IM in 2017, Brian has been leading the implementation of new marketing automation tools across all markets.
Campbell Macpherson is an international change specialist, business adviser, keynote speaker and award-winning author of The Change Catalyst (Wiley 2017), the 2018 Business Book of the Year, The Power to Change (Kogan Page 2020) and You: Part Two - thriving in the second half of your life (Hachette 2021). He is an Executive Fellow of Henley Business School and works with CEOs, CMOs and leaders to align their people to a clear strategy and deliver sustainable change. He was the founding Marketing Director of Virgin Wines and has worked with countless FS organisations including Sovereign Wealth Funds, Global Fund Managers, Insurers, Platforms, Brokers and Advisers.
David has been Managing Director of The Financial Services Forum since January 2013, heading up P&L and business planning with ultimate responsibility for ensuring the continued delivery of a great member experience. The FS Forum is a high quality professional network offering senior marketers access to thought leadership and educational content covering all aspects of FS marketing, across all sectors of the industry. Prior to joining the Financial Services Forum, David was Group Publisher of the Financial Division at Centaur Communications, responsible for setting the strategic direction with overall commercial, editorial and sales responsibility for titles including Money Marketing, Fund Strategy, Mortgage
Strategy and Corporate Advisor.
David has been a judge on the FSF innovation awards since their inception and brings over 40 years of experience in developing financial services brands and their product and marketing communication strategies.
He started his career as a commercial artist and spent 3 years at St Martin School of Art studying Graphic Design and Information Architecture. He then spent 8 years working on the creative side of the industry at agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi and TMW before becoming Creative Planning Director for Carlson Loyalty and then setting up his own digital agency. Over the years he’s worked on some significant campaigns including the re-launch of British Airways Executive Club globally, where he managed 20 regional centres and their strategic output across 135 countries worldwide. As well as launching BT’s first internet service via ISDN back in 1993
However, David’s real passion has always been financial services, so his work has covered most well-known financial services brands including Amex and Aviva, through to Zurich and across every most categories whether commercial or retail Banking, capital markets, investments, insurance and protection
David Smith is the CEO and Futurist at Global Futures and Foresight, a futures research firm based in London, which he has led for the past 14 years. He has 40 years of technical, business development, marketing, leadership, and strategy experience, in global IT and IT services firms including responsibility for the strategy of a $2bn global financial services business.
He is a regular keynote speaker at Business Schools and industry events and publishes several forward-looking papers each year. With Graeme Leach he recently launched CEOforesight to support leaders as they look ahead for their organisations.
Geraint leads growth operations for the M&C Saatchi Group – bringing together technology, data, insight and strategy to help deliver meaningful change for existing and future global clients. He is also responsible for Clear M&C Saatchi’s global marketing strategy, with a focus on growing its reputation as a business that delivers transformational growth for its clients.

Following an early career in journalism, with ITN and as part of The Week magazine’s founding team, Grant went on to spend several years in consumer data and insight. After joining the marketing team at EDF energy, Grant worked on the popular ‘Zingy’ (aka dancing orange thingy) campaign, which won the Grand Prix at the Marketing Society’s 2015 Excellence Awards. In 2017 Grant joined Nutmeg Saving and Investments, a digital wealth manager established in 2012 to make investment services available to everyone, where he now holds the role of Brand and Marketing Director.
Former Global Head of Marketing at AXA Investment Managers, Hazel has over 20 years’ experience working client-side in financial services across investment/ wealth management for a range of small, mid, and large-cap companies. More recently she has been working with a start up in the health and wellbeing sector.
She understands the complexity of transforming business strategy, and vitally, how customer experience, marketing and communications programs can improve a firm’s bottom line.
Ian is an agency leader who co-founded integrated agency AML to deliver ‘simple ideas for a complicated world’. This vision was born out his experience as an agency CEO and previously creative director at Engine, Publicis Groupe and DMB&B, where he led teams focused on clients with complex communication and branding challenges. Ian’s background as an award-winning creative writer and marketing consultant has included advertising everything from cars to whisky, travel and business journalism for print and broadcast and helping to create tech-based start-ups like The Big Exchange, a recent FSF innovation award winner.
Over the last 30 years Kevin has operated in various Snr Management & Exec roles, employed by several large UK brands including Bank of Scotland, HBoS (Head of Partnerships) and Birmingham Midshires (Head of Sales and Marketing for its Savings business)
He then joined moneysupermarket.com as ‘Head of Money’ & during this time, established himself as a recognised and respected spokesperson, promoting ms.com via the media including press, radio and TV.

Lee Jay is a strategic, data and impact-focused business entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience working within industry-leading tech and media organisations.
He's a Senior Director at The Trade Desk, a global buy-side tech platform and leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant. Responsible for managing the most strategic Joint Business Partnerships to enable marketers and their agencies to plan, buy and measure across the digital ecosystem, including CTV, digital out of home, audio, mobile and more.
He has a deep understanding of harnessing data, creating and distributing the right content to connect with consumers to drive awareness, consideration, and sales.
Previous to The Trade Desk, he held senior roles at Facebook, Shine Endemol Productions and Virgin Radio.
Lindsey is the Head of Marketing at Defaqto, the leading financial information, ratings and fintech business. With over 25 years’ marketing and brand experience, she has spent nearly 18 of those working in the financial services sector. Before joining Defaqto, Lindsey worked in a number of senior marketing roles at Lloyds Banking Group and has proven brand transformation, customer experience and segmentation, proposition development and marketing communications skills. A passionate customer & brand champion, Lindsey has led the marketing remit at Defaqto since joining in 2018 and is proud of the team’s success in winning the 2021 Financial Services Forum award for Most Effective Business to Business Campaign with ‘Defaqto Engage: financial planning with no loose ends’.
Liz has over 20 years’ of agency and in-house experience working with financial services brands including RSA, Aviva, Santander, Legal & General, Western Union, Nutmeg, the Pension Protection Fund and Zurich.
Her work spans corporate communications, crisis, brand, product and content strategies across asset management, wealth management, retail banking, credit cards and savings, general insurance, fintech, utilities and retirement planning. She has also advised clients on a number of regulatory fines and crisis scenarios, as well as supporting on exit strategies, IPOs and cyber activations.
Malcolm has been involved with the Financial Services Forum since its foundation, developing the structure for its awards and sitting on every judging panel so far, and also editing the first six volumes of Argent. A physicist by training, he moved from consumer goods into financial services in 1998 and quickly recognized the need for some management iconoclasm – an approach that he has espoused consistently in a career that has blended line roles, consultancy and university teaching and research. More recently, he has developed new skills in looking after his five grandchildren – and occasionally leading them astray!
Head of Commercial Innovation & Marketing at NS&I, Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) with 10+ years’ experience lecturing for CIM courses including Digital Strategy and Innovation in marketing. Michael is a Programme Advisory Board member for Cranfield School of Management’s MSc Strategic Marketing course and an advisory Route Panel member for marketing and sales apprenticeships with the Institute for Apprenticeships. In 2021 Michael joined the CIM Board as NED and is also a NED with London Mutual Credit Union, London’s largest community bank. Michael chairs the Education committee at the Worshipful company of Marketers.
Niels Footman is MD for the UK and Europe business at Copylab, a leading, global financial communications agency. His career spans inflight magazines, consumer electronics PR and freelance journalism, and 10 wonderful years spent in Seoul, South Korea. After joining Copylab as an investment writer in 2013, he managed a writing team, headed Copylab’s marketing, and now drives the business’s growth across the UK and Europe. In his spare time, he enjoys theatre, ‘big idea’ books and long, indulgent brunches with friends.
Rachel is Director of Brand & Marketing at Starling Bank and has a background in Financial Services. She is passionate about brand purpose and values and doing the right thing for customers and teams. Building the Starling brand and having the opportunity to change the world of banking for the better has been a highlight of Rachel’s career, as well as launching Starling Kite - a product that teaches children how to manage their money from an early age. In her spare time Rachel is often found on the side of a pitch, supporting her three boys in various sporting activities.

As a single mother, Samantha is passionate about creating a fairer UK pension system for herself and her young daughter and future generations.

Valentina is the Director of Growth & Communications at OakNorth, where she has been working directly with its co-founders, Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman, since June 2015, helping build the brand and community. Prior to this, she spent a handful of years at Lansons where she was an Account Director and where she was awarded the Outstanding Young Communicator Award at the CIPR Excellence Awards. Valentina is a Founding Editorial Board member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ multi award-winning member magazine, INFLUENCE, and a member of Tech London Advocates’ Fintech leadership team.
