                                        Half-Day Conference - 21 October 2021 - 0900-1230

Fidelity International, 4 Cannon Street, London, EC4M 5AB

As we emerge from a prolonged period of restrictions and isolation, and as we move to a hybrid way of working, marketing and living, changes and challenges within Financial Services marketing have been brought into sharp focus.

This half-day conference focusing on asset management marketing looks to explore the issues the industry currently faces and understand how marketeers can respond to these.

Join us on the 21 October 2021 from 0900-1300 at Fidelity International, 4 Cannon Street, London, EC4M 5AB.

Whilst all Forum members are welcome for the entirety of the event, the former half of the event takes a slightly more junior focus, whereas the latter might appeal to more senior marketeers.

We will cover the basics of asset management marketing, how marketeers should respond to regulation, marketing spend, retaining talented asset management marketeers, and the important role asset management plays in the journey to net zero.

Please join us for an exciting return to hybrid events, the opportunity to make new connections with your peers, share knowledge and learn from the best in the industry.

An A-Z of Asset Management Marketing

For an industry which aims to communicate with its clients clearly and jargon-free, asset management can be slightly cryptic for new starters. In this high-paced introductory session, we will cover the basics from what asset management is, to terminology, vocabulary, product suites, asset classes and regulation.

Crucially we will ask, what you are marketing, to whom, and what the role of the marketeer is in asset management.

This is a session aimed at junior marketeers, new starters in asset management, or those with an interest in learning about another industry.

  • What will great service look like for both asset management sales and marketing in the future?
  • Who is doing it well today, and why?

Future Media Spend Trends Across Asset Management

Where does the future of asset management lie, and how does marketing spend reflect this?

In this session we will consider recent research conducted by Investment Week, The Financial Services Forum and Teamspirit, looking at how senior marketing decision-makers in the investment management sector currently allocate spend, their existing and emerging priorities, key drivers in their decision-making, as well as activity and spend by audience, and preferred media channels.

Holding onto Top Marketing Talent in Asset Management

How do you keep talented and ambitious marketeers satisfied and engaged amid the red tape of asset management? Those in the early stages of their careers tend to pivot and change job more often than more senior members of staff.

The regulatory and compliance challenges of asset management marketing may appeal less to some early-career marketeers – so how do you capture the industry’s more captivating elements and help juniors connect with this?

Anne-Marie McConnon, Global Chief Marketing and Client Experience Officer, BNY Mellon (Global)

Panel Discussion: The Role of Asset Management in the journey to Net Zero

What role can the asset management industry play in delivering net zero targets?

ESG investing has hit asset management like a ton of sustainable carbon-negative bricks. You’ve heard about green washing, discussed the ethics of your board, and launched campaigns focusing on your purpose, but how much power does asset management have to make a difference?

In this panel discussion, we will look at the role of asset management in responding to the climate crisis:

  • How can asset management marketers deliver a strategy which is sustainable and will deliver their targets?
  • When the hype-cycle around sustainable investing dies down, where will your marketing strategy stand?
  • Will sustainability remain a focus or will it fade into the background as a hygiene factor of investment?
  • What are the customer demands and how does this translate to business and world benefits?
  • Can asset management do more to make a difference?

Oliver Stracey, Head of Sustainable Investing Marketing at J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management
